The Mariners Club Makes Waves for Their 2012 Season

Post Date: 03-08-2012

One great thing about being on the James River here at Rocketts Landing is our easy access to endless river fun -- and The Mariners Club is no exception. While we're busy expanding our marina and adding new transient boat slips and a fuel dock, The Mariners Club is prepping for their 2012 season putting boaters on the water. And they are certainly ready to make some waves.

A membership-based organization providing hassle-free boating access, The Mariners Club gives boaters a chance to get on the water without owning a boat. They have a variety of watercraft to use -- from pontoons to sport boats and jet skis -- and this year, members will have even more access to instant river outings.

New Watercraft

The spring boating season starts April 4, and The Mariners Club is wasting no time ramping up their selection of water vessels. Some of their current boats include a Tahoe Q6 Sport, Suntracker Pontoon and Sylvan Pontoon with Sundeck. But that’s just the start of their fleet.

“We’ve actually upgraded two of our bowriders, added a console fishing boat — which is versatile and family friendly — and upgraded a pontoon boat,” says Tory Wiles, owner of The Mariners Club.

So, whether you want to take one person or 10 out on the water for a day of skiing, exploring or fishing fun, The Mariners Club has just the boat for you.

New Partnership With Carefree Boat Club

One of the biggest developments members will see this year is a partnership with Carefree Boat Club, a national boating club that has nearly 20 locations across the country (which they plan to grow to 35 by year’s end). Through this partnership, The Mariners Club members will be able to access Carefree Boat Club locations and fleets — and add destination boating experiences to their membership perks.

“All our members will now be able to use the Carefree Boat Club locations,” explains Tory. “Right now, Virginia has four locations, including Williamsburg, Virginia Beach, Hampton, Stafford and Washington D.C., and they will soon open docks in Lake Anna and Tappahannock. The Club has the same kinds of boats and membership access, so now, members can expand their use and travels.”

And if members go on a vacation elsewhere in the U.S. near a Carefree location, such as North Carolina or Florida, they’ll be able to further enjoy their boat club benefits.

The Mariners Club is still accepting membership applications for their 2012 season. So, if you seek boating thrills without the hassle of ownership, we definitely recommend you check them out. And if you act now, you’ll even have your initiation fee waved — but this is only good for a bit longer, so be sure to contact them today!
