One of the things we love at Rocketts Landing is not only the wonderful residents who call our community home but also the quality professionals who help make Rocketts a great place to live. And so, we are excited to welcome Cedar Works' new Property Manager, Laura Barnes.
As a Shockoe Company Property Manager, Laura brings five years of commercial management experience to our community. She started serving as the Cedar Works Property Manager on March 9, and has spent much of the past five years working with historic rehab projects and the management details unique to these buildings -- which, from our perspective, makes her a perfect fit for Rocketts Landing and the Cedar Works homes.
“Cedar Works is a beautiful building,” explains Laura. “Working with the [home]owners is fun! It’s nice to have people interested in the well-being of the building and their neighborhood.”
A Northern, Va.–native, Laura came to Richmond to attend Randolph-Macon College and fell in love with Richmond. So, she decided to stay and call our fair city home. She enjoys the slower pace of life Richmond offers compared to her hometown, as well as the plentiful activities that can keep her and her toddler busy!
As far as Rocketts Landing, Laura loves how our community takes advantage of “the beautiful views on the river” and enjoys getting her river fix along our James River banks.
“The views from Conch Republic and The Boathouse are fantastic!” says Laura. “[There’s] nothing better than spending a sunny day on the deck with the city sparkling in front of you. My coworkers and I were recently having lunch at Conch Republic, and we watched a bald eagle swoop down and pull a fish from the river!”
We think her description perfectly encapsulates what we also feel is awesome about life at Rocketts Landing. So, please join us in welcoming Laura Barnes to the Cedar Works community. We look forward to many wonderful days ahead!
