M Bistro & Wine Bar is the newest addition to our growing restaurant scene here at Rocketts Landing, and we've recently heard that opening day is just a couple weeks away!
Since signing the lease for their space on the first floor of our 210 Rock Condominium building in May, Owner and Chef Michael Hall has been diligently putting all the pieces in place -- and the results show: They're set to open shop on July 14.
To start, the French/Southern-inspired cafe will offer breakfast and lunch, featuring coffee from Charlottesville, Va.-based roaster Greenberry's and an array of homemade pastries and light fare. Dinner service will begin a few weeks later. Their end goal is to offer breakfast, lunch and dinner by the beginning of August, including Sunday brunch.
While Michael’s been busy fine-tuning the menu and interior/exterior features, he’s also recruited some fine service talent in the process: M Bistro’s General Manager is Chris Simons, who previously worked at Lemaire; and his Sous Chef is Anthony William, former sous chef at The Bull & Bear Club and The Dining Room at The Berkeley Hotel. And Michael says they’re now in training mode to prepare their staff for opening day.

In fact, Rocketts Landing residents will be able to enjoy a soft opening before July 14, where they’ll sample fare and sneak a peak at all M Bistro & Wine Bar has to offer. So if you live in the community, be sure to keep a look out for that invite coming your way.
For all others, once fully open, M Bistro’s operating hours will be:
As of now, they’ll be closed Monday, but Michael says he has a feeling he might revise the operating hours once they’ve seen customer demand. And, they’ll also have WiFi available for customers.
“We’re really appreciative of how the neighborhood has welcomed us,” Michael says. “I want to thank everyone at Rocketts Landing because this has been a long process, and I can’t wait [for opening day]. I really appreciate all the support.”
We can’t wait either, Michael. Welcome to the neighborhood!
