When driving by our 210 Rock building at Rocketts Landing, you've likely seen the big letters displayed in one of our storefront windows: M-E-D-I-A-P-O-N-D. Sound familiar?
The "man behind the curtain" is no other than Mediapond, a digital design firm focused on helping companies authentically express their brand. They're also closely connected to their partner firm based in the same office, Pure Culture Consulting -- and both businesses are owned and operated by wife-husband team Karen and Bob Kelley, respectively.
Mediapond and Pure Culture moved from their original Shockoe Slip location into Rocketts Landing in summer 2010, because they needed larger office space. When seeking a new location, they specifically wanted a place that matched their brand -- and their customers.
“Our clients love coming here [to Rocketts Landing],” says Karen. “Because of that, our location here has been great for us. Some of them actually ask if they can bring their teams out — and we won’t be doing anything with them. They just want to see our space and have their meetings offsite.”
And with one visit inside their office, you know why: open industrial feel matched by eclectic, warm colors and accents. There’s also a basketball hoop, a huge projection screen surrounded by a glass table and salvaged metal grates reused as “walls of inspiration.”
Initially a video production company, Mediapond now does website design, logo creation and audio production, among other services. They were also the company behind the branding for our newest restaurant M Bistro & Wine Bar (And if you’ve checked out M Bistro’s website, that’s their work, too!).
You can view this clip to see some of their video work:
In looking to Mediapond’s future, life only looks up — and fun. They’re planning both the growth of their newest service, Social Media Strategy & Development, and a hoppin’ holiday party. And if you happen to revisit their office and see the furniture totally switched around, don’t be surprised. With Karen’s interior design background, apparently the muse hits, often.
