Island Shrimp Co. Now Open at Rocketts Landing

Seafood diners looking for a waterfront experience just gained a new destination: Island Shrimp Co. at Rocketts Landing.
Located beside The Boathouse and in the former Conch Republic building, Island Shrimp Co. continues the tropical vibes of the building’s previous heyday. You’ll find vast waterfront views, tropical cocktails — and dishes like peel and eat shrimp, aloha pineapple boat, and more!
Island Shrimp Co. is owned by Kevin Healy, who also owns The Boathouse. So, when the former Conch Republic building became available to lease, we didn’t have to look far to find our community’s next restaurant.
“We are delighted to once again have Kevin as our tenant,” says Richard Souter, partner with WVS Companies. “His update and refresh of the space is befitting of his quality operation. We look forward to the Island Shrimp Company having many successful years on the riverfront at Rocketts Landing.”
Bright colors and open spaces invite people into the restaurant, giving a carefree beach vibe. The restaurant can seat 105 people inside and 80 people on the patio. And they renovated the building to open up space so every seat in the house has views of the James River.
Further, the Virginia Capital Trail goes right along Island Shrimp Co., making it a great en route destination. A new staircase now leads from the trail and up to the restaurant for easy access.
